Preview for Season 7 Finale - Lose Yourself

Friday, August 27, 2010

Back! Sorry for the lack of posts.

Been busy with life. To be honest, I haven't been enjoying Entourage this season, so my interests have been flying somewhere else. I mean, the whole Sasha Gray story line is pretty shit. I have nothing against her being a porn star, I do have something against her being a terrible actress. But for some reason, Doug Ellin must be getting a blow job for her, to keep her on the show. For fucks sake they could have hired a legit actress, or a better looking porn star.

Also, Doug Ellin is a fucken sellout. That whole Avion storyline is just a promotion for his childhood friends tequila company. Yes, Avion is real. But Ellin has become a suit and is living by the mantra "Quantity over Quality"

Here are some updates.

Behind the Scenes - Why Everyone Loves Sasha...No one does. So shut the fuck up

Even the guys are mentioning the lack of interaction with one another. Doug Ellin, I saw that nice fancy watch...jealous, sure why not. You have more money than me, but you used to be cool when you wrote great episodes. Now you're a fucken tool.

Also, the Ari story line is just shit. Why the fuck would Mrs Ari be pissed about the situation...she knows what Ari's persona is...Fuck the whole town knows.

Here's a preview of the next episode.

Behind the Scenes of Episode 6 - Hair (Oh, I get it now) + Review

I've been vocal on my frustrations with Entourage. There's no hiding that. I love the ideas and concepts of this season, they're interesting, unique, and on paper are potentially entertaining. But somethings missing, and I can't put my finger on it. This show doesn't feel natural anymore. Jokes seem forced, and comebacks are expected.
You can always figure out how a character will respond back to a diss on them. It seems like the writers are sticking to a formula.

Lets discuss last nights episode. I enjoyed it. I'll give it a solid 7/10. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the reintroduction of Billy Walsh wasn't what I expected, it was underwhelming and I'm not sure if I like this 'new' Billy. Some characters don't need to change/grow...Billy Walsh is one of those characters. Its not like anyone wants to see a different Shauna or Marv...they're perfect just the way they are. Wait, why the hell aren't those two characters shown more often.

I know my next remark will probably be hated by others. But I was really hoping that Ari would tell his wife what was going on...I thought it would have been another perfect example of why there relationship is one of the better ones on television. Plus it would be great so see Perry Reeves's character utilized in a more efficient manor, instead of her just 'barking' at Ari. But I loved last weeks episode too. Perry Reeves is fine as hell! God damn, that was hot.

I'm hoping Drama doesn't go into animation...I think he's a better actor than Vince is and I'd love to see him get some recognition.

Review Entourage Episode 2 Season 7 - Buzzed

I am very vocal on my feelings towards Ally Musika as a writer for Entourage. In my opinion, she pretty much ruined season6(being head writer for that season).

I was already weary going into last nights episode when I read that she was the writer for episode 2. BUT, last nights episode was amazing! I loved last nights episode. Love it! Its everything I was hoping for since Entourage came back onto the air.

Here's a brief summary, Vince new attitude - and new look - after his near-death experience causes a public relations crisis for his career. In the midst of a big meeting over the NFL TV rights, Ari attempts to fix the problem. Luckily, agent Lizzie Grant (Autumn Reeser) is there to take some heat off of him, but indirectly lands him in more trouble. Drama continues to panic over finding a job, so Eric offers to go through scripts with him. Turtle learns that someone charged $10,000 on his corporate credit card, and Alex is the main suspect.

Here's what I loved

Vince - I love where Vince's character is going this year, by the end of the season I predict him becoming addicted to pain killers or just an adrenalin junkie...hell, I think he's going to become Hollywoods new bad boy...or an actor who doesn't give a shit what the studios think(he's been like that in the past, but I expect it to go even further). The haircut looks great on Vince. We've seen the new hairstyle from set pics posted earlier in the year. Its great to see Vince being a focus of the show, or having a relevant storyline which is something that was missing in season 6.

E & Drama - I've been mentioning this to my friends for awhile, E & Drama need more screen time together. Since Vince's career is already set in stone, I want E to work with Drama, an actor whose been struggling to stay afloat in Hollywood. We'll really get to see more of E as an entertainment manager. E's had it pretty easy with managing Vince's career, the guy was a hot item who everyone wanted to work with since day 1. Drama will be a different story, he's neurotic, brash, emotional guy whose given his all yet still comes up short in life. Something we can all relate to.

Turtle - I'm glad they wrapped up the "Who charged the credit card", its a common sitcom plot device and I'm hoping it will be the last we see of it.

Ari - New interesting story arc! I love seeing Ari at work, when he's really working and struggling for something. Its a lot better than the Ari is supreme master of the universe and gets everything easily. Although, I am a little hesitant with the Lizzy angle. I really don't want an Andrew Klien Part II.

What did you guys think? Enjoy it?

Eminem on Entourage

Eminem will help close out the seventh season of HBO's "Entourage" with a guest spot on the cable hit's finale. According to Entertainment Weekly, the rapper will appear as himself on the show, celebrating the success of his real-life album, Recovery, with a blow-out bash. Show creator Doug Ellin told EW that some drama will go down between Em and Adrian Grenier's character. "He has a little conflict - a little beef - with Vince," said Ellin.

RapRadar.com also posted a photo of Em shooting the scene, which features the hip-hop star in the foreground as a gigantic First Aid sign - which is part of the artwork for Recovery - looms above a crowd of actors and crew members.

Even though Recovery dropped just last week, Ellin is confident that the album will be a smash. Ellin told EW that the Eminem scene is set "at a platinum record party for his album, which by the time this airs [on September 12] will be platinum, I'm sure."

Em's "Entourage" guest spot also probably means that everything is cool between the hip-hop star and the show's executive producer Mark Wahlberg, with whom Mathers shared a famously tense appearance with the beefy rapper-turned-actor on MTV's "TRL" in 1999.
Christina Aguilera will also appear on the "Entourage" finale as a client of Ari Gold. "She's doing Ari a favor and performing at a party for him," Ellin said. The season seven send-off is shaping up to be a star-packed episode as John Cleese, Minka Kelly, and professional athletes like Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees and more are set to appear.

Entourage - Ep1.S07

I thought that was pretty shit. I rewatched that episode a couple of times, and I don't think there was a single joke? Whats the deal with that.

The Bads

- Too many story lines going on, and none of them had any substance(I know its only the first episode, but they should focus on two storylines and work on them to fill in the show for 30min). They tried to pack too much into this episode, and everything went by too quick.

- Ari seems so bored. How many times do we have to hear "I'm the biggest agent in the world" "I can do whatever" " I have no competition"

*If the creators of Entourage learned nothing from Vince McMahon, is that you need competition to create interests and in turn gets *YOU* to work harder to beat your competition.

- E, was he even on?

- Turtle business was cool, but again, they should designate two story arcs in each episode and have them somehow relate(well, you don't have to)

- Vince, great to see Vinny back on set. But that stunt thing was lame, and I feel bad because I know how hard those people worked on that(I watched the behind the scene video). But it was so lackluster, but what can you expect...HBO doesn't wanna spend money on Entourage and in turn creates shitty episodes.

What did you guys think?
I rewatched the first couple of season, amazing. I miss the good ol days.

'Entourage's' Jeremy Piven: 'I'm not Ari Gold' - latimes.com

'Entourage's' Jeremy Piven: 'I'm not Ari Gold' - latimes.com

By Greg Braxton, Los Angeles Times

June 26, 2010

Ari Gold, the ruthless Hollywood player of HBO's "Entourage," commandeers his agency's conference room with his typical force-of-nature bravado. No longer content with being the planet's most successful agent, he outlines a bold plan for conquest.

"I'm bringing an NFL team to Los Angeles!" he proclaims before warning his underlings to keep quiet about the high-level negotiations with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: "I'm not threatening your jobs, I'm threatening your lives! I'm serious."

Moments later, Hurricane Ari had blown over. Jeremy Piven, who portrays the uber-agent, walked off the set and settled in behind the show's creator, Doug Ellin. Gold's brashness stands in stark contrast to Piven's low-key, thoughtful demeanor.

"Everyone needs an outlet, and playing Ari feeds my adrenaline junkie," he said softly. "But I'm not Ari. I don't think he would have the patience for an actor like me."

As "Entourage" enters its seventh and penultimate season Sunday, Piven is moving at full foul-mouthed throttle in the role that has scored him three consecutive Emmy awards as outstanding supporting actor in a comedy. Though the show theoretically revolves around the struggles of up-and-coming movie star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and his posse of friends from their New Jersey neighborhood, the 45-year-old Piven has emerged as the show's not-so-secret weapon and its most recognizable star.

He's particularly pumped that Ari, who always seems to land on his feet despite his often risky maneuvering within the Hollywood fast lane, will hit a few walls this season. "He's incredibly reckless and will be taken down," Piven said. "He's drunk with power. I love it. It's what continues to give this show its edge. We're going to show what happens to a person when they have success and wealth, and it's still not enough."

But whatever comeuppance Ari Gold receives in the show's final two seasons, the overpowering character will have enough juice left for a planned "Entourage" movie. In fact, Piven may become so closely identified with the role that he may find the Ari aura hard to shake — some of his recent films such as "Smokin' Aces" and "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard," did not exactly set the box office on fire.

But for now, Ellin is concentrating on Season 7 and he's particularly pleased with Gold's story line and Piven's performance. "Jeremy is so great, and has been great since the beginning of the series," he said. "He's always up to whatever I give him. The more pressure I put him under, the more he excels."

Though Piven assures fans that Ari will still have plenty of fictional slings and arrows to fire this season, he's still a bit stung by the real slings and arrows aimed at him over his controversial exit from the critically acclaimed Broadway production of "Speed-the-Plow" in 2008. Piven abruptly left less than two months into the production after his doctors said he was suffering from mercury poisoning brought on by the heavy consumption of fish and sushi for decades.

Even though Piven had received rave reviews for his performance in the David Mamet play, some observers thought the actor was lying. Any illness, critics charged, came from an overactive dating and night life. "My understanding is that he's leaving show business to pursue a career as a thermometer," Mamet said at the time.

The suggestion that he was faking his illness in order to ditch a demanding role still hurts Piven, who in addition to "Entourage" has appeared in several TV series ("Cupid," "The Larry Sanders Show") and films ("Old School," "Runaway Jury"). It hits particularly hard given his theater roots — his parents founded the Piven Theatre Workshop, which was the training group for noted performers John and Joan Cusack, Rosanna Arquette and many others. (A professional arbiter ruled last year that the actor did not breach his contract by leaving the play.)

"That talk really did hurt," Piven said. "I grew up in a family that dedicated its life to the theater. There's the truth and reality, and there's the spin and perception. There was this misconception that the Hollywood boy tried to do Broadway not realizing what it was. Doing Mamet on Broadway is the Holy Grail. If anyone thinks I would take something like that for granted, they've got the wrong guy."

But he chose not to speak out and publicly defend himself: "I didn't retaliate, decided to take the high road. Now I think I did the wrong thing in doing that."

He knew early on in the production that he was very sick and was suffering from the Epstein-Barr virus, a debilitating illness characterized by fever, aches and extreme fatigue. There were times when he was on stage that the pain was so intense that he could barely see.

"My body was literally trying to survive," Piven said. "I was in bed every day until the moment I hit the stage. As soon as I was offstage, I was in bed. I never had a drop of alcohol."

Finally, his doctors told him that if he continued, he could die.

Piven, who has since adjusted his diet, said he is now focused on bringing balance to his life — and being the best Ari Gold he can be.

"I'm dedicated to my health and to getting into the best shape of my life," he said. "I want to deliver work I'm proud of."

Billy Walsh!!!!!! BACK!!!!!!!!

My favourite character will be back this season according to an article in the WSJ

What do you guys think.

Hate or Love Walsh?

Want him back for 1 episode or more?

Doug Ellin Interview with WSJ

By Jon Friedman

Doug Ellin, the creator and executive producer of HBO’s hit series “Entourage,” still gets a kick out of directing episodes of the show, which will launch its seventh season on June 27. And he still dreads the task of writing the scripts because -– as any writer will tell you -– it’s hard work.

When I caught up with Ellin late last month on the set of “Entourage” in Culver City, he was good-naturedly kvetching about the task at hand. “I still have two scripts to write,” he said in an interview (see video below) He added: “I hate writing so much, I try to avoid it.”

That would come as a surprise to the legion of “Entourage” fans who have to come enjoy the lively dialogue between the four pals at the core of the show, Vince (Adrian Grenier), E (Kevin Connolly), Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara). Plus, the ever-combustible agent, Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven), has morphed into one of the most recognizable characters on the tube.

One of Ellin’s skills is finding time to develop each character’s personality in only 30 minutes on each show. “We pack a lot into a half-hour,” he said proudly.

Ellin has also created popular and familiar guest roles, especially the crazy-director Billy Walsh (Rhys Coiro). “Everyone’s asking me about Billy,” Ellin said.

Fans of the show, numbering people who work in the entertainment industry and those who are outside of it completely, both marvel at the perfect pitch of “Entourage.” The show has a knack for holding a mirror up to the mercurial ways of Hollywood.

That is by design, Ellin stresses. He understands the vicissitudes show biz. “One minute. you think you’re on top of the world,” he pointed out – and the next, you’re leaving town.

By Hollywood standards, “Entourage” has defied the odds in its longevity. So far, the core players have remained on the show. There have no reports of disruptions on the set or major conflicts. It is a happy, informal set.

Ellin nodded when I told him how I was struck by the relaxed nature of the “Entourage” atmosphere. That is also by design, he emphasized. The key is working with “grounded people who don’t get sucked in” by the fast lane of Hollywood.

The castings were first reported by Entertainment Weekly.

"Old habits die hard... Ari can't help but abuse... everybody" -Rex Lee

"It's what we live for, to be able to make great illusions. The thing about 'Entourage' is everything we do is realistic. We go to the real places, we shoot on location. We get the real people. It's a perfect marriage between fact and fiction." -Adrian Grenier

Entourage Movie?

We've all heard it...being promised that a film will come out of your favourite television show(with its original cast, not like the string of shitty films based on tv shows ie Dukes of Hazards)

Anyways, the list goes 24, Arrested Development, SATC, Skins, etc

Now the boys behind Entourage are looking to end off with a film...

Mark Wahlberg(producer & whose own Hollywood back story inspired this show) has stated that he's working on developing a film.

"I am more focused on making that movie than my own films," Wahlberg told MTV News, exhibiting all the passion of Jeremy Piven's energetic talent agent, Ari Gold. "I just think we can make a great movie. I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they've always wanted more. I think we're going to do it. We just have to end strong, and this season is, by far, the best season so far."

Over the course of six seasons, "Entourage" has covered a lot of ground: Vinnie has gone from rising star to leading man (with the world's highest-grossing blockbuster among his credits), only to see the work dry up, going from out-of-work actor and back to emerging star once again. It's been quite the journey. So what story line could an "Entourage" movie explore? Wahlberg offered up one particularly memorable scene, though it had nothing to do with Vinnie.

"In the trailer, you see [Ari and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened," Wahlberg imagined. "It would be pretty cool!"

If that's not enough to sell you, then "Entourage" probably isn't your cup of tea. But Wahlberg's enthusiasm for the project was palpable. He's already considering making a cameo in the film: "Possibly, yeah. I've been on the show so many times, and we've got some great cameos coming up this year. It's getting pretty good."

New Entourage Trailer

Here's a link to a new trailer that has actual footage for the upcoming season of Entourage

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQTLvU725fA&feature=youtube_gdata

Some highlights

We actually see Vince on set. Apparently a director is pushing for him to do his own stunts for a pretty cool looking action film

Ari is one of the biggest agents in the world, seems like he's going to become an owner of a sports team. Looks like it's the cowboys.

Turtle has started LimHoes and might have found a new love

E is just E

Drama looks to be struggling to have a show picked up. Seems like he wants to start to pitch his own idea, better not be a show about their lives.

Enjoy

Jessica Simpson makes an appearance on Entourage

I have the utmost respect for the entire cast and crew of Entourage! Thank you for making the past 2 days memorable :) - Jessica Simpson

She'll be one of Ari's client, whose being lured away by another. Apparently the scene is 'really funny' and I think her Dad Joe Simpson makes an appearance.

Doug Ellin News

Entourage creative-executive producer Doug Ellin has signed a three-year overall deal with HBO, according to Variety.

The eight-figure deal extends Ellin's current deal and covers the upcoming seventh and eighth seasons of "Entourage" as well as development projects. The show's seventh season starts June 27.

Ellin's projects at HBO include a politically themed comedy from writer Ben Schwerin and a female-focused project for HBO that he's working on with fellow "Entourage" executive producer Ally Musika.

PS - I HATE ALLY MUSIKA. I HOPE SHE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SEASON 7. SHE RUINED SEASON 6.

More Entourage News!

Entourage will be back on the tube July 11th. As of now, they're shooting for the upcoming season.

Here is some news for the show.

Bob Sagat will be reappearing on the show, but this time he's bringing Uncle Jesse. John Stamos is rumored to be making an appearance. I wonder if Stamos will remember Drama, who played his tough guy nephew(or was it cousin)??

For those looking, this might be as close as you’ll get to a Full House reunion, but don’t think that this will be anything the children can watch as Bob Saget and John Stamos will spend this season being at war with the eldest Chase brother, Drama.

Stan Lee on Entourage!

According to the excelsior, he might have a cameo on Entourage.

If you’re a rabid fan of the great cable show “Entourage” –and who isn’t!— your Generalissimo may soon have an interesting item for you

Ye of great perception who fain can guess the yet unrevealed news of “Entourage” may be truly deserveth of a fabled No-Prize!

Entourage Season 7 News

Here's some rumors, Chinese whispers, word that has reached from the grape vine...

Season 7

Sloan and E's wedding will be shown.
I'm looking forward to this for some reason. We hear about those Hollywood weddings, big shots who have friends who come to their wedding(who also are A list Actors). I'm wondering how this will play out, as Sloan is the daughter of a former Agent and E has made some waves in Hollywood, considering he's riding on the Vincent Chase oil rig.

Vince will start filming a new big-budget movie. He'll require a stunt coordinator to work with him on the action sequences and pyrotechnics.

Turtle will be in charge of a new business venture, which will require the hiring of a trio of sexy women, all of whom want to be cast in Vince's new film. LimHoes - the stupidest idea for Entourage. If they make this a successful venture, and Turtle gets a happy ending...I will nothing.
